Light and delicate in the mouth, with notes of fresh citrus and bright red fruits. A gorgeous Rosé Champagne that is stunning as an aperitif but is equally well-suited to the end of a meal, showing well when served with bitter chocolate and candied grapefruit peel.
Hure Frere is a family business through and through. Run by brothers François and Pierre, with guidance from their father Raoul, this winery harnasses the potential of Ludes; a fantastic Premier Cru on the Reims mountain. The brothers believe that great Champagne starts in the vines, and they farm all their vineyards using Biodynamic and Organic practices. A far cry from the industrial style farming favoured by big Champagne houses.
Their attention to detail may be micro-local but their outlook is global. They cite Hubert De Montille from Domaine de Montille in Volnay for his amazing way to express each vineyard, and Mat Donaldson from Pegasus Bay Winery in New Zealand as influences and inspiration.
