50% Syrah, 50% Graciano
Spanish for “the quarry,”, La Cantera is a fitting name for a wine born from the /BAS/ vineyard located just a stone’s, throw from an active quarry. Due to extreme 2020 California drought, it left us with drastically low yields but great intensity. On the nose aromas of toasted oak, vanilla, and white pepper leap out of the glass. Red fruit, blueberry, and mint balance the spice and bring freshness. Fine tannins combined with medium acidity contribute to the long finish.
