93 Wine Enthusiast – The region’s forest-like qualities show on the nose of this bottling, where hints of sandalwood, cigar box, oregano and thyme add to the dried red-fruit aromas. The palate offers a dark blackberry jam core, with peppercorn and marjoram adding nuance.
Controlled sophisticated nose with black cherry and mocha powder…Very subtle presence of French oak in the complex yet medium intense aromas. Completely free of sharp edges. Fresh entry like cool water, repeats the bright cherry flavors and subtle earth complexities in a light frame. The pH and acid balance of this wine is leaning more towards age ability than most vintages I’ve released in the last decade. When first judging this vintage I came to the realization that this is the first point in my long career when the Cabernet I have bottled will outlive me.
