The particular trend of the 2002 vintage enhanced the qualities of the Cabernet, but made the ripening of the Sangiovese more difficult; for this, Solaia Annata Diversa 2002 was produced with 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet franc, which reached optimal levels, excluding the traditional 20% Sangiovese.
The choice of grapes was so meticulous and careful that the few selected were judged to be equal to the best vintages of Solaia. The 2002 vintage is characterized by fruity and woody notes and a soft and persistent palate.
