The 2021 John C. Sullenger Cabernet Sauvignon possesses beautiful red plum and raspberry aromas that are underscored by subtle spice and earthy notes opening onto layers of juicy red fruit flavors. Classic Oakville tannins support the full, round palate, while soft toasted oak and spice lift the long, seductive finish.
Nickel & Nickel winery, located in Oakville, Napa Valley, is dedicated exclusively to producing 100 percent varietal, single-vineyard wines that best express the distinct personality of each vineyard. Established by the partners of Far Niente in 1997, Nickel & Nickel is focused on producing single vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the appellation’s most significant vineyard sites.
The home vineyard of Nickel & Nickel, the Sullenger Vineyard, is situated behind the winery in the heart of Oakville and named for John C. Sullenger who settled the farmstead in the 1880s. The vineyard’s 30 acres of clay loam soil are planted exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon. Situated at the toe of an alluvial fan that extends from the western Mayacamas range, the vineyard is comprised of fluvial river deposits and clay loam soil from the Bale soil series, which are developed on alluvial fans and flood plains.
