92-94 Neil Martin – The 2020 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru comes from three parcels and taken was directly from used barrel. The elegant bouquet features orange blossom, yellow flowers and a light minerally scent that emerges with time. The palate is just lovely: beautifully defined, cohesive and poised, with tangible mineralité and touches of white peach and fennel on the saline finish. Great potential.
Known as the antiquarians of Chablis, the father and son team of Gérard and Lilian Duplessis have gained a reputation for their “immortal”, age‐worthy wines and unparalleled store of older vintages. For those who love the intense minerality and glacially slow development of great Chablis, these are wines of reference.
