Dark purple with generous aromas of dark fruits, blueberry, sweet chocolate, vanilla with a slight floral quality.   It leads to plush flavors of plum, black cherry, vanilla, blueberry and cassis with bright acidity.  It’s a silky, rich wine with a nice balance and a long textured, structured finish.

Cabernet Franc is a black-skinned French wine grape variety grown throughout the world. The variety is most famously known as the third grape of Bordeaux and can be found in many of the world’s top Bordeaux blend wines.
Cabernet Franc is commonly compared to Cabernet Sauvignon, which is not without justification. Along with Sauvignon Blanc, the former is a parent of the latter. (Recent DNA profiling has also shown that Cabernet Franc is also one of Merlot’s parents).

Just down the street, Byington Vineyard and Winery sits on 95 mountainous acres surrounded by redwood forests with a view to the Monterey Bay. Byington produces award-winning Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay wines and other exciting varietals that highlight the diversity of Northern California.
The winery is focused on growing and producing premium wines, farmed sustainably using biodynamic growing methods. The wines are handcrafted with focus on natural fermentation methods from handpicked grapes.  While the Byington Estate is located locally in the Santa Cruz Mountains, they also produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from the Tin Cross Vineyard in Alexander Valley.Â
Byington’s history dates back to before 1987 with the release of its first vintage. In 2013, Los Altos Vineyards purchased Byington, investing significantly in the vineyard, wine production, and facilities and grounds to provide an optimal wine experience for wine club members and guests. New facilities include solar power production, the Cave Patio, Block 4 Outlook, and hiking trail.
